Our Vacation!

We were lucky enough to go on a weekend getaway to Bear Lake and Logan. It was so fun to relax and just play - even if it was only for a few days.

This was Ky's attempt at packing. According to her all she needs is Pudder.

This is the view of the lake from my parents' cabin. So beautiful and calm. At one point there was a deer and her twin fawns in the driveway, but Ky kept saying "woof!" so I guess to her they were dogs.

Here are the girls all ready to go to the beach in their little swimsuits and cover-ups. They both went down all those stairs all by themselves!

Ky loved digging in the sand and collecting shells. Over and over she filled that bucket.

Savvy just liked to follow Daddy around like a shadow. She would even go into the lake if he was holding her - she is a very brave little lady.

We went out for hand scooped ice cream after a long day in the sun, and Ky decided that spoons were overrated. She could eat it much faster with the direct approach.

We spent the last couple days with my parents in Logan. We played in the garden, ate fresh veggies, and made hairbows for the girls. Grandma and Grandpa even took us to our favorite pizza place where the girls filled up on garlic bread. The next day we all went to the park where Ky had no fear going up and down the playground equipment and Savvy took a calmer approach and looked at the horses with Grandpa.

We had so much fun, hopefully we can go back really soon!

"ni-ni kisses"

Our poor Savvy is still battling her medical issue (her surgery is scheduled for the 27th), but she has been a little extra tired. Tonight she fell asleep on the floor before bathtime. Ky couldn't let her sleep without "ni-ni kisses" from her and Pudder. What you can't see is that Pudder is wearing a fabulous rhinestoned yellow tank top. What loving sisters they are.

Doctor in Training

We re-organized the girls clothes this week and Ky found this cute little "Doctor in Training" outfit in a box of hand-me-downs from my sister. She always sends the cutest stuff and Ky thinks that this particular outfit is the BEST. Ky also found a little squeaky toy that she thinks belongs in the little front pocket of her shirt. When she comes to give you a check-up she "squeaks" you better. I would really like to to spend a day inside her head...

Battle Corn

Our Ky is a very stubborn little girl. She is also a very picky eater. Since her birthday we have been trying the parenting strategy called the "no thank you bite." It's simple. She has to try at least one bite of everything on her plate and if she doesn't like something she can just say no thank you. However, the actual taking of the one bite is where our problem lies. So far today Ky and Daddy are into minute 47 of "battle corn." Who will emerge victorious?

*Update* Ky sealed her victory at 54 minutes. She just wasn't going to eat the corn. I think she would rather spend the whole day in the corner. Hmmm... maybe it's time for a new strategy.

Ky is Three! (part 2)

She had such a fun day. We went to Chuck E. Cheese's to play since it is one of Ky's favorite places. She rode in the truck with "woof woof" for a little over a half an hour! She was in heaven! Then she got to eat lunch at the playplace where she slid down the slide over and over.
She loved her birthday cake, her "dippin dots" ice cream, and sharing her big night with "Uncle Kagan" and her soon to be "Aunt Amanda." Ky felt so important getting a birthday phone call from Grandpa, mail from Grandma, and a singing telegram from her cousins! A big thanks to everyone who helped make our little girl's big day so special!

Ky is Three! (part 1)

Today is Ky's birthday! I can't believe she is 3 already. If you ask her how old she is though, you still get a resounding "2!" We have a day of fun planned for her, including the cake I made. (Yes, I know I am not artistically talented, but she loves "Makeen!") I just hope that she feels special on her big day.

Get Well Soon Grandma!

Get Well Soon Grandma! We hope you feel better and recover fast from your surgery! The girls made cards to help you feel better, hopefully the mailman delivers them to you quickly. We love you!
